Scope
These terms and conditions of sale govern sales made by MTB Retail Kft. (hereinafter “the Prélude bookshop”) via the website www.lalibrairiefrancaise.hu and at its shop located on the ground floor of the Institut français, 1011 Budapest, Fő utca 17. Any order placed implies full and unreserved acceptance of these terms.
Prices
Prices are indicated in Hungarian forints (HUF), Hungarian VAT included. Delivery costs are specified on the “Purchases and delivery” page and are added to the price of the ordered products.
Orders and conclusion of the contract
An order is validated upon receipt of the confirmation email sent by the bookshop. The bookshop reserves the right to refuse or cancel an order in the event of product unavailability, manifest error in the price, or a previous dispute with the buyer.

Payment and delivery terms are set out on the dedicated pages “Payment methods” and “Purchases and delivery”.
Product conformity and legal warranty
In accordance with the provisions of the Hungarian Civil Code (Polgári Törvénykönyv, Act V of 2013) on the warranty of conformity (kellékszavatosság), we undertake to replace any defective or damaged products, or any product not corresponding to your order, as soon as possible. Where replacement is not possible, a partial or full refund will be offered. The delivery costs of exchanged products are borne by MTB Retail Kft.
Right of withdrawal (distance sales, consumers)
In accordance with Government Decree 45/2014. (II. 26.) Korm. rendelet on contracts concluded at a distance, individual consumers have a period of 14 working days from receipt of the order to exercise their right of withdrawal, without having to justify the decision.
To exercise this right, simply send a clear and unequivocal statement by e-mail to info@lalibrairiefrancaise.hu.
The refund, including the standard delivery costs initially paid, will be made within 14 working days of receipt of the return or proof of shipment. Return costs remain at the buyer's expense.
Returned books must be in perfect condition, unmarked and unused.
Important: this right of withdrawal applies only to individual consumers (natural persons). Schools, institutions and companies (legal persons) are expressly excluded — see section below.
Exchanges and complaints
Individual consumers — in-store purchases
Purchases made in-store may be exchanged within 14 working days on presentation of the receipt, provided that the books are in perfect condition, unmarked and unused.
Schools, institutions and companies — firm and final orders
Orders placed by schools, educational establishments, institutions and companies are firm and final. No exchanges or returns will be accepted, except in the case of manufacturing defects or errors on our part.
This policy applies to any purchase made on behalf of a legal person, regardless of the sales channel (store, website, e-mail, quote).
Items excluded from any exchange or return
Regardless of the customer (individual or institutional), the following items are neither taken back nor exchanged:
- School textbooks
- Newspapers and magazines
- Postcards
- Calendars
- CDs and DVDs
Complaint procedure
- Complaints must be sent by e-mail to info@lalibrairiefrancaise.hu.
- We undertake to respond to complaints within 5 working days.
Mediation and dispute resolution
In the event of a dispute that cannot be resolved amicably, the consumer may refer the matter to the competent conciliation body: Budapesti Békéltető Testület (Budapest Conciliation Board) — 1016 Budapest, Krisztina krt. 99. — bekelteto.testulet@bkik.hu — www.bekeltet.bkik.hu.
Consumers residing in the European Union may also use the European online dispute resolution platform: ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr
Applicable law and jurisdiction
These terms and conditions of sale are governed by Hungarian law. Any dispute falls within the exclusive jurisdiction of the Hungarian courts.
