What are your opening hours?
Our usual opening hours are Monday to Friday from 10 am to 7 pm, and Saturday from 10 am to 2 pm. Any changes or exceptional closures are always updated on Google.
Where is the Prélude bookshop located?
Our address is: 1011 Budapest, Fő utca 17, on the ground floor of the Institut français. The nearest metro station is Batthyány tér (line M2). The nearest tram stop is Halász utca (lines 19 and 41).
How can I place an order?
You can place an order in three ways:

- or by visiting us at the bookshop.
What should I do if I cannot find the book I am looking for in your catalogue?
If you cannot find the book you are looking for in our stock, we will order it for you. Simply send us as much information as possible (title, author, publisher, EAN) by email (info@lalibrairiefrancaise.hu), by phone (+36 1 308 52 85), or by visiting the bookshop. We will inform you about the availability, price and delivery time within 48 hours. We do not require any deposit, and we will notify you by phone or email as soon as your order arrives.
Why have I not yet heard about a book I ordered two weeks ago?
The average delivery time is one week. However, some publishers may take up to two weeks to prepare and dispatch our orders. If the delay exceeds three weeks, please feel free to contact us.
How does pick-up at the bookshop work?
Online orders are to be collected directly at the bookshop. Please wait until you receive the email confirming that your order is ready before coming to the shop.
I live abroad. Can you send me my order?
Yes. We dispatch orders within Hungary via GLS, and worldwide through GLS partners. However, we recommend contacting us in advance by email at info@lalibrairiefrancaise.hu to determine the shipping costs, which can be significant depending on the destination.
Can I cancel my order?
Yes. For online purchases, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal from the receipt of your order, without having to provide any reason. To exercise this right, simply send us an email at info@lalibrairiefrancaise.hu. The full terms are set out in our terms and conditions of sale.
Pages are missing from a book I bought from you, or I received a book as a gift that I already own. Can you exchange it?
Purchases made in the bookshop can be exchanged within one month upon presentation of the receipt or invoice.
